This post should be a Goals Summary or even the belated Monthly Recap, but I’m gonna be real honest with you – I don’t have the energy for all of that right now. Fall is here, the weather is dark and a little dour. I’ve been off my ADHD meds for about a month and I’m exhausted. What energy I do have is getting divvied up between my home, family, work, and the book. That’s it. For those things to go well I have to let the blog and Newsletter go for now. I hate that, truly, but also, the amount of relief I feel at admitting it tells me everything I need to know. Putting my online presence/activities on pause is the right call. So, what does this mean? Basically, don’t expect much regularly scheduled content on the website until December, maybe even the new year depending on how…

Huh. For the first time in a long time, I don’t know what to say at the cusp of a new year. I still feel so close to all the things that happened in 2022 – many of them still feel in-progress! In our house we celebrate both secular Christmas and Candlenights (which started as a joke but has become a legitimate celebration). Whether you observe the Solstice or light your Menorah, I hope you have had a peaceful and joyous season.  Last Week If you’ll recall, I set no formal goals last week. I wanted to continue to enjoy my time off by playing video games and preparing for the holidays. Let me tell you, after a blur of Candlenights, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day my cup runneth over with food and family.  I woke up this morning and felt that slow little trickle of interest in goals and goal setting. So let’s see how far it can take us… What’s Next? Newsletter Prep End of year prep/blog posts prep Edit and post new podcast episode So, you know. A…

Outings! is an all-new blog series where I explore the (mostly urban) outdoors and report back to you! I know I’ve talked a lot about hiking on the blog before, and particularly about how I didn’t do enough of it this summer, so this is my way to make up for it.  I’ve also talked a little bit about needing to up my activity levels, especially on the weekends, so I thought this might be a good way to do that.  So, what is Outings! exactly?  Outings! Is… A weekly blog post where I share my thoughts and experiences with the outdoors here in my town. Salem has a lot of parks and some trails and wilderness areas nearby, and despite living here for over 10 years, I haven’t been to most of them. In an effort to be more active, give myself some weekend structure, and reconnect with my…
