Well, hello there, October! It should come as no surprise that I’m rather fond of the Spooky Season, and even the moderately cool temperatures that come with it. I’m looking forward to wearing my jean jacket and my doc martens, to watching The Crow and indulging in a Chai Latte every now and again.
But before all of that, lets talk about the last week of September.

Weekly Word Count: 5,069
I’m feeling pretty accomplished at the moment, I gotta say. I met all my weekly goals, damn near met my monthly goals, I’m reading like a freaking fiend, and I’m well on my way to revising the rough draft of my novel.
I do want to shout out my critique group, because without their support during some recent writing sprints, I don’t know if I would have pumped out all these words and gotten the book done. So, thanks Gang! You da best!
So, What's Next?
- Start revisions
- Update website
- Send newsletter
- Edit and schedule podcast
Well. I don’t want to spoil anything for you guys, but uhhhhhhh this week’s looking good. Today (tomorrow as of this writing) my plan is to spend most of my day out of the house, posted up in a coffee shop of some sort while I read and start mapping out this revision.
Always a scary first step, reading the monster you spent months birthing. Scanning it for obvious weaknesses, prodding at tender places you’d rather pretend are fine. But, that’s the next step. And after that? Surgery. Lots and lots of surgery.
Buckle up, buds. It’s gonna be a tough couple of months.
I’m (tentatively) planning to post about the revision process for this particular book. If I do make that happen, it should be sometime this week before I really dig into the book. *Fingers crossed*
Until then, Blogland!
