This post is late, as is the newsletter. Lemme tell you why. I just had the worst migraine I have had in almost 5 years. I know for a fact I have not had a migraine with vomiting in at least 4 years. This one had me either in bed, on the couch, or hunched around a toilet bowl.
I haven’t been able to eat anything other than broth for the past 72 hours. I’ve barely kept water and gatorade down. I haven’t brushed my teeth because of the gag factor and because I couldn’t physically bend over the sink without wanting to cry/die.
Today I’m doing much better. There’s still a twinge in the left side of my head as the migraine slowly makes its way out, and I am weak from all the puking and not eating. Putting a load of laundry in this morning had my heart rate up and a sheen of cold sweat on my neck.
I haven’t been able to look at screens, so I’ve been listening to podcasts and youtube videos in the background while I faded in and out of consciousness. This is why there were no blog posts and why the newsletter has yet to go out.
But! Silver-lining! This means there’s still time for you to sign up for the newsletter before it goes out! And this month’s story is a bit longer than usual, so you don’t want to miss it!
Now, let’s get on with the good stuff.
Last Week
- Prep Newsletter
- End of year blog posts
- Edit and publish podcast episode
How'd I Do?
- Prep Newsletter
- Yep! It’s done, just needs me to record and add the audio link and it’s good to go!
- End of year blog posts
- Yep! Both the December Recap and the 2022 review post are both up!
- Edit and publish podcast episode
- Yes! The November episode of Top Shelf Librarians is out now!
Weekly Word Count: 0
No lie, I don’t have a lot to reflect on for last week. It was productive, lots of blogging and some reading, and got some more pieces for my office reading nook. That’s about it.
What's Next?
- Write 2x/week
- Send Newsletter
- Writing Admin/Submissions
These are pretty straightforward. I should be able to get the Newsletter out later today. I need to eat something a little more substantial than a handful of Honey Nut Cheerios and drink lots of water before I record the audio version of the “micro” fiction going out this month. but once that’s done it’s just a matter of pressing “send”.
Well, I was hoping to write on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I definitely didn’t write yesterday, and tomorrow I have a hair appointment that’s going to eat up a lot of time. We’ll see if I manage it this week.
Writing Admin and Submissions is going to take some time because I need to take stock of what stories I have pending, what’s waiting to be sent, and which agents to query. Depending on how I’m feeling, I might get a start on this today. But, it might just as likely be a weekend task. Who knows!
Annnnnnnd that’s it, Blogland. I am so grateful to be feeling better, even as I know I’m only at about 70% right now. That sure feels a lot better than the -2% I was running at yesterday.
I have some bonus blog post ideas to share this month, though with how my week’s going, I wouldn’t expect any this week. But keep an eye on the blog – it’s going to be active this month!
Until then, Bloggos!
