Good morning, Blogland!
As of this writing, it is currently my birthday! So far it’s been spent walking the dog, drinking coffee (from my new Dragon Age mug and coffee warmer – thanks, hon!) and fangirling over all things Dragon Age because…
It’s Unofficial Dragon Age Day! every year, the Dragon Age fandom gets together to celebrate all things Dragon Age on my birthday (12/4), so as an extra special treat, I get to stare at gorgeous art and submerse myself in all the fandom goodness of my favorite video game. I won’t blather on about it here, but suffice it to say that I’ve had a wonderful time.
I also talked to my mom for awhile and Trev is going to make steaks for dinner after we play more God of War together. It’s been a very nice, very chill birthday and I LOVE that for me.
So let’s get on with the talking about last week so I can get back to my bday vibes!

As I mentioned in my November Recap, the trip to AZ was… a lot. It was really wonderful in a lot of ways, and really hard in others. As such, I gave myself some extra leeway this past week to recover. That I wrote at all seems impressive to me. That I survived the two work days I actually attended seems miraculous.
As part of that leeway and recovery time, basically all my goals fell by the wayside. The podcast has been postponed to mid-December due to some illnesses, my birthday, and time constraints. It’ll be late. sorry.
Working out was not even on my radar as I had a migraine and was so exhausted from traveling. Similarly, I didn’t read much, although I did listen to almost three hours of an audiobook (Ten Steps to Nanette), so maybe I shouldn’t be so hard on myself in that regard.
And, of course, the nano goal fell short. I’ve talked about this in the Recap, but the further I get from November, the less urgency I feel about word counts. The book is coming along nicely, and I’m looking forward to a more leisurely writing pace over the next few months.
What's Next?
- Write 5,000 words
- Read a book
- Workout at least 4 times
That’s it. I’m keeping things straightforward this week. There’s only two weeks left of work until winter break, and I am DYING for that time off. Keeping things simple seems pretty imperative right now. So, yeah. That’s where I’m at.
I’ll be back on Wednesday with the usual Outings! post, then Thursday is the Game Awards so I’ll be on social media live posting about that, I’m sure.
Until later, Bloggos!
