Okay.
Look.
This post is late, and I’m also running late on my final proof for Victoria, so I’m gonna keep this brief.
Last Week
- Victoria Revision #2
- Read/workout 30 minutes a day
- Edit + post podcast
- Survive Homecoming Week
How'd I Do?
- Victoria Revision #2
- Yes! All the substantial edits are done, and now I’m in the proofing process. Wooo!
- Read/workout 30 minutes a day
- Yes! It was a very active and busy week, and I definitely burned some serious calories.
- Edit + post podcast
- Yep and yep. The new episode is out now! Have you listened in yet?
- Survive Homecoming Week
- I’m here, typing, so I guess I survived? I’m still exhausted and vaguely sore (from dancing for 3 hours straight), but it’s over. I made it!
Weekly Word Count: 0
Honestly? The week was such a blur, I have basically nothing to say by way of reflection. Last week happened, I guess. It must have. I got some good work in, as well as some good workouts, and now we’re moving on!
What's Next?
- Submit Victoria
- Workout and/or Read 30 minutes a day
- Decompress from Fiction
Here’s the gist:
Victoria is VERY close to being “Done” and I am going to spend tonight (and probably tomorrow night, let’s be honest) on getting it polished. This is my number one priority this week. And I mean, NUMBER ONE. There is nothing else (except working out and food, because health) before this project.
Which brings us to the working out and reading goal. Good news is, I’m listening to my audiobook during some of my workouts, so I get double the productivity! The bad news is this is a new adjustment to my routines, which always feels vaguely threatening. I am change resistant, I cannot help it. This is why the planner is all important. If I can plan it, I can control it. If I can control it, I can survive/accomplish it.
This last goal is super… nebulous. What does it even mean to “decompress from fiction?” For me, it’s pursuing non-bookish interests. Once Victoria is done and submitted, I’ll be reading and playing piano and video games. I’ll spend time with friends and family, and maybe squeeze in a hike. This time between submitting Victoria and starting Nanowrimo are for scrubbing out the inside of my skull so the new book can stick there.
Admittedly, two weeks is a tight turn around, so I’ll probably be playing LOTS of piano and getting outdoors more than usual, in hopes I can expedite the resting process between projects. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
That’s all folks! That’s all I’ve got for today. Thanks for tuning in. I’m hopeful that I’ll have some “bonus” blog posts over the next few weeks as I decompress and prep for Nanowrimo.
Until then, Bloggos!
