Weekly Word Count: 381
Hey man, it ain’t zero, which is about all I care about when it comes to word count right now. When it comes to revision, word count just isn’t a good metric by which to measure progress.
I’m gonna be really transparent with you all right now. I’m finishing up this blog post way after my bedtime. The teens have saddled me with the cold passing around school and I’ve done a lot of lounging today, which means I *maybe* forgot about writing this post. So, I’m gonna skip the usual depth of reflection and skip to the good stuff.
What's Next?
- Victoria Revision #2
- Read/workout 30 minutes a day
- Edit + post podcast
- Survive Homecoming Week
Yeahhhhh. You read that right. It’s Homecoming Week. That means I have basically no free time this week and will be spend a ludicrous amount of my evenings at school. It’s fun, but chaotic and demanding and arguably my least favorite part of the school year. I always feel like there’s a million other things I want to think about in October than school spirit stuff. But, that’s the job.
With it being the dreaded HoCo week, my odds of getting some solid revision in is… not great. I also chose this week to introduce a new workout routine. And I didn’t get as much done this weekend as I needed to in order to feel prepared for the week ahead.
Basically… I screwed myself over by taking time for myself. But I really enjoyed it. I read a LOT, hung out with friends, played video games with the spousal unit, and spent some time working out and getting back into yoga. These are all good things that I absolutely shouldn’t feel guilty about. And yet…
It’s fine. I Monday night (tonight), Tuesday night, and Thursday night to work on Victoria. The spouse and I have gotten into a really good habit of reading for 20-30 minutes before bed. And… I’m sure I can squeeze in the podcast somewhere. Right?
Shit. Okay. So Monday night (tonight) I’ll edit the podcast, then work on Victoria on Tuesday and Thursday. As long as it’s done by the 11th.
I think it’s safe to say that you shouldn’t expect to hear from me again this week. I’m going to be way to busy to spend time on the blog. In fact… I should probably remove social media from my phone for this week. I’m going off the grid to get these revisions done.
I don’t know if I’ve ever felt more like a writer in my life.
Until next week Bloggos!
