I’m having trouble pinning down all the things I did last week. What did I plan to do? What did I actually manage to accomplish? Thank goodness for planners and whiteboards, or else I’d never be able to tell you!
Last Week
- Finish Victoria Revision #1
- Query Package Rough Draft (Letter + Synopsis)
- Read a book
- Edit + post new episode of Top Shelf Librarians
How'd I Do?
- Finish Victoria Revision #1
- YEP! And boy does it feel good!
- Query Package Rough Draft (Letter + Synopsis)
- Lol, nope.
- Read a book
- Yep! I finished reading Gallant on Saturday and I loved it very much.
- Edit + post new episode of Top Shelf Librarians
- Yep! The new episode is out now! So give it a listen if you haven’t yet.
Weekly Word Count: 606
Not too shabby, methinks. Especially considering how busy my work week was. God, it was so busy. Busy enough to leave me with a migraine the minute I had a chance to breathe. But, there’s one silver-lining to migraines, and that’s listening to audiobooks. Let me just say, Nick Offerman is now one of my favorite narrators.
I’ve sent Victoria to a handful of beta readers, and so far the early opinions seem to be favorable. Fingers crossed that it continues that way.
I also spent a chunk of the weekend gutting and painting my office closet. The reading nook has taken yet another step on the journey to “done”. Honestly, this was the hardest part. From here it’s all curating decor and sourcing shelving. AKA the Fun Stuff! I can’t wait to see how it comes along!
I should also mention that the Top Shelf Librarians have taken on the Trevor Project’s Back to School Reading Challenge. You can learn more about it in the new episode’s blog post, or on the Latest page, under the Announcements section. We thank you for your support.
What's Next?
- Victoria Query Package Rough Draft
- Read 20 minutes/day
- Write some fanfic?
Not gonna lie, with Victoria out to betas, and school starting this week, I’m hesitant to set any major goals. Not that I even know what those goals would be if I did want to set them. Things are quiet right now. Short story submissions are slow. Queries are slow. I have no new pressing story ideas.
So, I think I’m gonna give myself permission to slow down this week. Play some video games, catch up with friends and family, read. This is a time to catch my breath before diving into the next round of revision. Before October’s high pressure submissions and prep for Nanowrimo.
Yeah. This is a week for self-care. Might even give myself a manicure! Who knows?
I don’t have any other posts planned this week, but that’s never stopped me before. If I don’t see you sooner than later, then I’ll see you on Monday, Bloggarts.
